The edit kit

Everything needed to cut a Wrestleball video: intro sting, outro, lower third, captions, stat card, rule card, transitions, sound and export specs. Every template below is live — click it to play. Each one has the exact numbers underneath so an editor rebuilds it natively in Premiere, After Effects or CapCut instead of screen-recording this page.

Pair it with the two documents it depends on: the house cut style (the ten rules and the word bank) and the identity kit (colour and type origin).

00 · The constants

Four values that never change. If a clip breaks one of them it is not a BoxingFinesse clip.

#0B0B0D Ink · every background
#F4F1EA Bone · every word
#E8322B Red · one thing per frame
#A5A19A Grey · roles, labels only
ConstantValueWhy
TypeBebas Neue, all caps, tracking +12/1000, line-height 0.86One face. Never a second display font. Inter only for tiny legal or role labels.
Frame1080×1920, 9:16, 25 fps (30 if the source is 30 — never mix in one timeline)Vertical first. A 16:9 version is a crop of the vertical master, not the other way around.
Safe areaNothing important in the top 14% or bottom 18%Platform chrome eats it: handle, caption, buttons.
RedExactly one red element per frameTwo reds and neither one means anything.

01 · Intro sting · 0.8 s

Comes after the first impact, never before it. Rule one of the cut style: the hit buys the logo. Two hard wipes, mark lands, red rule draws, gone.

Frame (25 fps)Action
0–5Red #E8322B wipe, left→right, ease .7,0,.3,1
5–10Ink #0B0B0D wipe over it, same direction and ease
9–13Wordmark up 8 px + fade in, ease .2,.9,.3,1
11–16Red rule draws to 62% width, centred
21–24Whole mark fades out over the next shot

Sound: one low sub hit on frame 0 (the wipe), no whoosh. The impact of the shot before it carries the sting.
Never: spin it, bevel it, put it on white, or let it run longer than 20 frames.

02 · Word slam

The workhorse. One word per cut, landing on the impact frame. Max three in a row, then get out. Scale down from 150% with a blur that resolves in three frames — it should feel like the word was punched into the frame, not animated onto it.

Ease.2,1.4,.4,1 — overshoots slightly, that is the punch
Hold9 frames minimum, then hard cut. No fade out.
ColourBone. The last word of the three is red — that is the point of the line.
PositionOptical centre, or on the third that is empty in the shot. Never over a face.

Every word must land on a real impact: a body hitting the mat, a ball through the net, a beat. A word on a quiet frame is noise.

03 · Captions · word by word

For anything with speech: interviews, commentary, explainers. Inactive words sit at 28% opacity so the eye reads ahead; the active word snaps to 100%. Key nouns go red. Never more than five words on screen.

Line countOne line. Two only if the sentence breaks naturally.

Auto-caption workflow: generate in CapCut or Premiere, then fix three things by hand — the timing on the key word, the line breaks, and the names. Auto-captions always spell fighters' names wrong.

04 · Lower third

Every athlete gets one, once, on their first appearance in a clip. Slides in from the left edge, holds while they speak, slides back out. Never two on screen.

05 · Stat card

The pillar nobody else in this sport has. A number on screen turns a highlight into evidence. Use one per clip, on the frame that proves it.

Stats worth showing: takedowns in a match · wrestler attacks converted · clash wins · points from a single athlete · rebounding split · fouls to the penalty · prize money · seconds between a score and the next possession.

06 · Rule card · for explainers

The Explained format lives or dies on this. One rule, one card, one demonstration behind it. Never explain two rules in one clip.

07 · Transitions · only these three

Every other transition is banned. No dissolves, no zooms, no page peels, no "glitch" presets. Hard cut is the default; these three are the only exceptions and each has one job.

flash · click

Flash

4 frames, bone at 100% for 1 frame then out. Job: jump between two angles of the same moment. Sound: a single snare or the impact itself.

whip · click

Whip

7 frames, directional blur sweeping across. Job: change location or time. Sound: a short air whoosh, low in the mix. Max one per clip.

red bar · click

Red bar

4 frames up, 4 frames off the top. Job: chapter break in an explainer, or into the outro. Sound: the sub hit. Never mid-action.

08 · Outro · 1.6 s

Identical on every clip, forever. The consistency is the asset: after twenty videos people recognise the last two seconds before they read them.

The CTA rotates by format, the layout never does:
Hype → Follow for every match · Explained → More rules on the channel · Meet the Ballers → Full profile in bio · Road to the Cup → Tickets in bio

09 · Sound

Half the impact of every clip and the half most editors skip. The mat, the grunt and the crowd are the product — music sits under them, never over them.

LayerLevelRule
Natural sound−6 dB, peaks to −3Never muted. The body hitting the mat, the squeak, the breath, the referee's whistle. This is what makes it real.
Impact hits−8 dBOne low sub layered under the natural sound on the two biggest impacts only. Not on every cut.
Music−16 dB, ducking to −22 under speechEnters on the sting, not before. Cut it dead on the outro frame — do not fade.
Speech−3 dBCommentary or interview. If it competes with the music, the music loses.
SilenceOne clip in five should drop everything but natural sound for a full second. It stops the scroll harder than any drop.
Loudness−14 LUFS integrated, true peak −1 dBPlatform standard. Louder gets turned down automatically and sounds worse.

Music licensing: Epidemic Sound or Artlist only, and log the track in the clip index. Never a chart song — the clip gets muted in half the territories and the reach dies silently.
